Yoga Passion: Your Face Yoga Guide

After having spent 5 years working a 9-5 office job, Simona made a decision that changed her life. “I always wanted to be free and do what I loved to do. Yoga practice for me was the time when I felt calm, present and grounded. I noticed how yoga changed my body, how I became more positive and happier. After a few years of practice, I decided to become a yoga teacher, and it was the decision that changed my life.” Simona started teaching yoga in community centres in addition to her office job, after a while she decided to quit her 9-5 and become a full-time yoga teacher. “In 2013 I opened my own yoga studio and became a business owner. THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE.”

What do you love the most about yoga?

“Yoga keeps me grounded and present. It helps me feel and look my best.”

What are the main benefits of face yoga?

“Face Yoga helps not only to reduce the lines and firm facial muscles but also helps to relax.  It can do wonders for your overall health and happiness. Taking time to relax, do something for yourself and knowing you will look and feel better. As a result, you also notice yourself feeling calmer and more energised, looking younger and healthier. What happens on the inside, radiates on the outside.”

What is your favourite yoga pose?

“I love lots of yoga poses as they benefit each other. But my favourite one to practice is a bridge pose. It helps not only to strengthen back muscles but also stretch the chest and spine.  It improves digestion, helps to calm the brain, reduces stress, anxiety and depression.”

Face Yoga Guide

Step 1

Start the practice by tapping with fingertips all over the neck and face. It will relax the muscles.

Step 2

Gently tap with ring fingers under the eyes to reduce puffiness and dark circles.

Step 3

Use fingertips to pinch and twist all over the cheeks for 30 seconds to increase circulation in the area.

Step 4

Use the heels of your hands to massage the face in circular motions. Massage the face 4 times.

This will increase elastin and collagen production. Remember to always practice with awareness. Keep it gentle. Breathe through the nose.

Step 5

Use small circular motions to massage acupressure points in the ears. Massage each point for 3 seconds, moving up a centimetre at a time.

Massaging acupressure points in the ears will boost circulation and glow in the face.

Step 6

Finish the practice by using your fingertips and gently tap your skin from the neck up to relax.

Well Done!
